Dylan is a third-year undergraduate student at UC Davis majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis on aquatic organisms and minoring in Environmental Toxicology. In addition to studying the tolerance of aquatic species to environmentally relevant toxicants in Dr. Segarra’s lab, Dylan has also contributed to the study of microplastics and their presence in marine mammals and aquatic ecosystems in Dr. Gjeltema’s lab. Currently, he is most interested in how environmental stressors affect fish at different levels of organization (from cell to whole organism) using biochemical, physiological, and behavioral approaches.
Aside from research interests, Dylan is also actively pursuing a career in veterinary medicine and has experience working in small animal general practice and emergency settings.
In the Segarra Lab, Dylan continues to further his interest in toxicology and hopes to deepen his repertoire of related laboratory skills, while searching for a way to combine his interests in environmental toxicology and veterinary medicine.
