Zoha is broadly interested in evaluating the impact of various anthropogenic stressors on aquatic organisms and assessing urban sustainability strategies in cities. With a M.S in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences – Urban Sustainability from Wayne State University, her expertise spans pharmacology/toxicology, aquatic toxicology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and behavior analysis.

Her graduate research at Wayne State University delved into diverse realms, from developing bioassays to detect endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) like BTEX in water samples to evaluating the ecosystem functionality of green stormwater infrastructure by assessing pollinator density and diversity.

Her current work in the Segarra lab focuses on utilizing zebrafish bioassays to detect developmental toxicity to single compounds and simulated mixtures of air pollutants.
