Anissa is majoring in Marine and Coastal Science while also pursuing the pre-veterinary track, with hopes of becoming a veterinarian. She is interested in ecology, toxicology, and animal behavior research, particularly how environmental and human factors can impact organisms and their health. In her free time, she loves to read and spend as much time as she can with her friends or at the beach with her dog. Through her work in the lab, she has gained skills in data collection, experiment setup, and animal care. Her favorite part of working in the lab has been gaining hands-on experience with aquatic organisms and learning how research can help us understand the effects of environmental stressors on animal health. Moving forward, she hopes to continue developing her research skills and deepen her understanding of animal ecology and behavior.
